Introduction

RentEase

RentEase is a real estate app that provides flexible payment plans for tenants and Landlords. It was built in 1 week by a group of 12 students. RentEase was built to create a solution that simplified the process of finding and agreeing on rental payment plans, ensuring timely and consistent payments, and reducing the administrative workload for landlords.

RentEase is a web-based platform that allows landlords to offer a variety of payment plan options to tenants, and tenants to choose the payment plan that works best for them. It has features such as house listings, detailed reviews, pictures and videos of apartments, secured payment channels and excellent customer service.

My Roles and Contribution

As a Data analyst, some of my roles in the project included:

  • Conducted a survey on the interest of Users and pain points in the real estate industry.

  • Researched existing data about market size

  • Created a problem statement for the team which had the highest votes.

  • Documented and edited the PRD.

  • Tidied up documents and ensured a smooth submission process.

Lessons Learned

As the heading says, this project was a hackathon, it was thrilling and exhausting. I learned a few lessons on this Quest:

  • Dedication to completion

  • Grit to withstand pressure

  • Efforts payoff

Most importantly I learned that "Hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard." – Tim Notke. I definitely would do this again.
